You're wrong. That's 9 different fights where the odds would be close. You won't flip a coin 9 times in a row and get heads every time.
I dont think you're remembering or appreciating how great prime Rafa was. Against seven of those nine he is a clear level or two above, no coin tosses involved.
Hes a lot bigger then Inoue, who started at what 105/108? Rafa started at 118 Rafa hit like a 135 fighter Not saying Inoue dont have a chance but to outright favor him over Rafa... not.so sure
Inoue would be a favorite. Nery may be better but his ceiling isn’t known. Sor would be about even odds. Rigo was definitely better, but his current level is unknown.
I’ve attended his fights and know all about him. He was a fringe or 5-10 pfp guy who had a lot of good/great fights and built a quality resume for a period of a few years. He never was dominant like Inoue or Rigondeaux.
This. Rafa was legit. Should have stayed at 122. Too many people remember him for his run at 126, yet his best days were long behind him at that point.
Earlier in their careers Rafa was considered better probably due to his "more exciting style" With that said I always felt JMM was the better fighter.
I think it was due to Rafa stacking more "quality wins" at the time when he beat Too Sharp Johnson and Tim Austin, which was before JMM fought Pac and became a bigger name fighter. Nowadays Rafa gets underrated when compared to JMM. But I think Rafa was almost as skilled a boxer with a bigger punch, better jab but was more defensively flawed.
