without promoters where would boxing be right now? Who would scout the talent, invest in training, make sure the shows attract fans?

there are thousands of promoters who are good for the sport.

Belts and orgs play the roles of divisions or conferences in other sports, they are STRUCTURE to a degree. Unfortunately, they have been/are corrupted and play ridiculous amounts of bull**** which negatively impacts the great sport.

What Boxing needs is an NFL style COMMISSION that oversees, regulates, and mandates the POLICIES for these organizations to follow:good

The first, but Not the last:lol:

I have had plenty of articulate posts, all depends on what you read. I also have posts that some find abrasive. All depends on the frame of reference and agreement isnt necessary, but bound to happen occasionally:good

There is a need for an international organisation that takes care of the SPORT of boxing. Like FIFA is taking care of football (soccer). The promoters are very necessary, and they should be interested in organising first on a country level and later with an international organisation, but on the other hand there is no need for them to make so many millions as some of them do.

Of course such organisation would need sactioning fees to run the show which is ok, but no private person should benefit financially from this. This also means that this organisation would make sponsorships and TV contracts and the income from this would go to promote the sport.

One purpose should be to get rid of the PPV that is slowly eating away the audience. We need a bigger audience so that we can get better sponsoships and the great opportunity for the Promoter/Boxer would be to create a "star" and sell merchandise. The revenue from this could generate much much more money than what is the case at the moment. There are simply too few people making too much money doing way too little.

The national and international organisations should of course also take care of, refs and judges. Have 1 valid and respected World championship. This is in fact what these sactioning boddies are doing, but the whole thing is very infested and very undemocratic. They exist for the money from boxing not from the wish to promote boxing.

Who said promoters wouldnt still have a role?? The would simply have RULES that protect the integrity of the sport, to be followed.

The orgs and promoters could still function, they just wouldnt have the ability to partcipate in corrupt ****.

Promoters has a function of taking care of the interests of their fighters. This is not an evil job, that is necessary.

I hate to say it, but that's what the current sanctioning bodies are.

There was one. WBA I think.
Then, there was a dispute, and the WBC arrived.

    Then, the IBF.

SO, even if the above was to happen, and we got one called, I don't know, FIBO - as soon as there was a dispute, and some cash to be made, there would sure as **** be a FIBC, FIBF etc etc.
