Hasim Rahman, three time world champion. :yep

He knocked out an all time great Lennox Lewis to win his first title (undisputed).

He got the title from Vitali Klitschko for the second time, not really a legit win, but a championship nonetheless.

And then beats Wladimir Klitschko, THE man, for his third championship!

IF he manages to win, he'll not only have the distinct achievement of three titles, but two of them against "the" man, and all of them against outstanding fighters, despite not really being THAT special in terms of talent. I'm pretty sure Klitschko's wins and rooting for him, but if Rahman wins, he'll make Ruiz look like an underachiever.

    Good point

    Lennox Lewis really should have:

    1) Trained properly for his fight with Rahman and we wouldn´t have this BS
    2) Fought that damn journeyman Ruiz after the Holy fight and sent him into retirement - cause then we wouldn´t have the BS with Ruiz either

I would be shocked if that happens. Rahman is a good filler since Povetkin is out but shouldnt be a hard fight for Wlad.

The thing is, with all the multiple belts and heavily recycled fighters in a not so great division, we are starting to have more and more fighters who are multiple champions, who should never have been more than contenders or fringe contenders to begin with.

We have Ruiz, Rahman and Valuev as 2-time champions. Maskaev, Peter, Lyakhovich, Briggs, Brewster, Byrd have been world champions recently. Oquendo, Williamson, Meehan, Okhello, Beck etc. have gotten world title shots. Jameel McCline has gotten 4 title shots. Barrett got 2. Golota came out of retirement to get 3 shots in a row and may get another one soon. (I actually thought he beat Ruiz and he may have beaten Byrd, so it says more about how much these two sucked as champions than about Golota actually - but it´s still recycling).

We have too many titles and interim and super belts - that´s the real problem.

If he beats Wlad he will get destroyed by Vitali in another revenge of the brother fight.

Byrd would have beaten Golota easily!

How Rahman gets a title shot is beyond me, he QUIT against James Toney, in a similar manner to Judah against Clottey.

If Rahman were to land a big one again (doubtful), He'd be in my top 25 heavyweights.Rahman catches a lot of flack. That was no lucky punch against Lewis. There is no such thing as a lucky punch in my view

Even though Lewis hadn't trained, he was taking the **** out of Rahman something silly.

But - treat the sport with a lack of respect and it always gets you back.

    That's what happened to Lennox.

Depends what the definition of lucky is. If that fight had taken place ten times in alternate dimensions and Rahman had only landed that punch in one of them, then that to me is enough to say that it is lucky.

Every punch is intentional, obviously, but you could fight a guy numerous times before you land it and if you were fortunate to land it in a HW title fight then as far as I'm concerned that is classified as luck!

Rahman has some ability. He also has really long arms for his height. Lastly, he has a decent punch.

The thing about Wlad is, he can be KTFO any given fight. This isnt a gimme until Wlad stops him or the final bell rings

Rahman may have that so called punchers chance but I don't see it happening at all. Rahman looks finished to me. He is extremely slow and plodding now and Wlad should k.o him early. Rahman, sometimes, gets more slack than he should. He has had a pretty solid career with the big Lewis win and a few other good wins added to it. He has been a consistent top ten contender for a long time. But he's a long way from his peak and I think Wlad takes him apart.

I think Hasim Rahman will win, TKO 6...! even though Lennox Lewis was not in the best of shape for their first fight. Hasim Rahman was able to out JAB Lennox Lewis, in some patches. Hasim Rahman when motivated and in immense condition has a good jab and hits hard, i think he is a underrated puncher.

It could happen, Power is the last thing to go, and Rahman certainly still has one punch KO power. Rahman just hasn't looked good th past few years, it'd be a huge accomplishment if he pulled this off, but he probably won't.
