If Ricky Hatton had been trained by Freddie Roach from 2000 on...

    I think 90% of great fighters behaved like Hatton did out of the ring. It wasnt his discipline outside of boxing, it was his discipline in the ring.

    he would have been far better. RIcky was limited by some pretty basic technical flaws (not keeping his hands up, squaring himself up, etc). Roach would have at least fixed his deficiencies and made him a better offensive fighter.

    I agree with you on that...i find it interesting how i will hear people say..."Hatton was very average in athletic ability" and then they also say "he had very little techincal skills" and i always have to ask "well how then did he win any fights ever?"

    ricky hatton always had a good trainer, good camps. he acheived to his limit as it was. freddie roach wouldnt make any difference. he would be just as good.

    By 2007 he would have added the Ali style to his repertoire and be well on the way to perfecting the traits of the classic Panamanian slicksters.
