Notice the big IF, but if Rigo can pull it off convincingly via hospitalization (which he did to 4 of last 6 opponents) how would you rate his legacy?

TWO incredible wins on an utterly crap resume. Donaire is not an ATG, but he's a HOFer. Lomachenko isn't even a lock for the HOF right now, but he could end up being both.

    Interesting scenario.

When has someone moved up two divisions to beat a bigger p4p great? It's only unfortunate that Loma isn't a more established star, because too many would write Loma off as a hypejob and take away from the win. But if Rigo wins it would be simply one of the greatest accomplishments in boxing history. It would erase every doubt about his career till now, and make him instantly a true ATG.

Yes. But he took a couple years to settle into ww, and had been struggling to make lightweight for a while longer. Jumping two divisions to immediately beat a great talent is unheard of.

His legacy is secured regardless, you're ignoring his 2 Olympic holds and incredible amateur career

Anyone who begs to differ ask yourself, if you retired with 2 Olympic golds and was an undefeated world champ would you be happy.. of course

Loma fight would only add to his already great career tbh

Hopkins moved up 2 divisions to beat Tarver. Wasn't Tarver p4p?

That was a massive accomplishment, good shout, but Tarver's nowhere near the talent of Loma, and the upset KO of RJJ shouldn't have had him top 5 p4p.

I'm one of Loma's biggest fans, but the guy isn't even a HOFer yet, nevermind ATG.

Say he beats Loma then Loma continues to do what he's done and eventually wins titles at 140, which seems very probable once Crawford goes to 147.

If he beats Loma then it's a genuinely great win. He has everything going against him IMO - age, size, speed, power and for the first time as a pro someone comparable in skill.

Mosley jumped up 2 divisions and beat de la homo in 2000
