would easily be undisputed P4P KING already. The reason that Floyd is #1 is because he started his pro career very young and has had plenty of time to shine. This is a problem with most Cubans as they almost always defect in their late 20's or early 30's like in Rigo's case.

Rigondeaux probably has about 2-3 good solid years left. He should reach about 20 or so pro fights as he already has spent about 60% of his great years in the amateurs.

If anyone agrees with me just go out and say it, Rigondeaux would be P4P King by now.

Probably not. How are you so sure that he would have been this good 10 years ago? He probably perfected his craft in the last couple of years. And plus, Floyd at 22-23 was just as good as he is now if not better.

Because he won Gold at age 18 and was a pure beast. No one could touch him in that Olympic tournament. His style was about the same, now he just has even more experience...

22-23 may have been too young. It's possible that he may have missed out on a great deal of experience and been brought up like most contemporary fighters, spending 5 years fighting people that have no shot of testing them.

25-26 would have been a good age. Even the 28-29 wasn't too terrible, but he just has not been active enough in the time he's been here.

He should have had 20 fights by now.

The reason Floyd is #1 right now is because too many people seem to think that the pound-for-pound "title" is some sort of lifetime achievement award instead of an assessment of a fighter's most current body of work. Andre Ward is the real #1.

That to early, he would have still been on his training wheels:lol:. He's better off starting late because now he's riding a full 10-speed .

Floyd got robbed in the Olympics, he definitely was heads and shoulders better than his everyone in his weight class.

+ When he was 17 he handled Whitaker in sparring (Infered by his video)

He won a world championship 1 year in his pro career.

Rigos good, don't get me wrong. But we can't say for sure if he would have lasted this long. Nor can we say for sure that he would have made the transition well 10 years ago.

It would have been good if when he tried to defect in 2007 he had managed it. Think that was pretty much the perfect time for him.

It's annoying as **** the issues he's had with management etc and the amount of fights he had since he defected. He should really have had another 8 or 9 fights at the least.

Still I'm happy just to see a talent as good as Rigondeaux whenever possible

Partially what MVC, all those years in the amateurs helped him become great. If Rigo is 32, he will last longer than 3 years he doesn't get hit, I think he will fight at a high level for 5 more years so,maybe 30-0

Plus, he would have had plenty of time to develop his pro style just as Floyd and others did.

What's sad is that had Rigo been able to compete in the 2008 games, he would've had THREE gold medals.

Sure but no one can say for sure how well he would have made the transition 10 years ago.

    Like I said

Floyd was basically gold medalist material, he just got robbed

He did great work vs Whitaker a 17 year old kid in sparring.

It would probably be a heads up between Rigo/Floyd/Manny.

    I'd agree here.
He had so much trouble getting the legal issues resolved and wasted so much time. By now he was suppose to have at least 20 fights.

Good assessment but in order to keep that great defense his legs have to be there and the legs are one of the first things to go with age. I sure hope he can fight strongly till his late 30's and at least reach 30 pro fights.
