    I. Would it serve to, at least in your eyes, mitigate some of the impact of his losses in the last few years? If he lost any prestige, would he regain it, both in the long and short term?

II. What should he do next if he wanted to improve his ATG rating?

I honestly believe this fight means nothing to either of their standings. If Bhop wins we know RJJ is nowhere near where he was, and if RJJ wins we know Bhop has trully aged quickly, it measn nothing! This fight should have happened years ago, oh well!

So if Hopkins still looks like he did in the Calzaghe fight, you'd give Roy Jones no credit for beating him if he did?

Well I guess Calzaghe definitely shouldn't get any credit either.

Calzaghe beat both of them you clown.

Who beats who out of the 2 guys he beats makes no difference at all. He beat them both.

true, but if one of these boxers wins big they should get some credit for sure.

But remember the Hopkins/Calzaghe fight was very close, some people thought Hopkins won, so what if Roy Jones wins big?

If Bhop is as good as he was against Joe and RJJ is as good as he was against Joe, RJJ will lose badly!
Listen, in his day RJJ was the most phenomenal athlete we have probably ever had in boxing, he was scary at times. H2H he is a stinker for everyone throughout history. The only problem is he never really learnt the art of boxing per se. His god given athletic ability meant he didnt need to; his reflexes and speed were purely genetic, and he didnt need to learn to box, bc he could win impressively without them and make it look easy.
Father time has caught up with him though, and his god given ability dwindled massively, hence his massive decline. Bhop on the other hand did learn to box, and incredibly well, he does pretty much everything right in the ring, textbook style, that is why he has aged quite well. He never really relied on his athletic ability, however, it does reuire some, and if it goes he will fall as fast as RJJ did.
So if Bhop somehow loses to RJJ is isnt bc RJJ has suddenly become an expert boxer or got his relexes back, it is bc Bhop has aged also. No boxing historian will give much weight to this foight when looking back at these 2 fighters.

Hopkins is gonna knock roy out if they fight

roy has no more footwork and will be a sitting duck

at the end of the day only a knock out will do for bhop, because he knows, as we all do, that roy was done 5 years ago. and i mean DONE.

I think people stopped getting credit for beating Roy Jones Jnr after he got Ko'ed by Johnson.

As everyone knows he is way past his best.

these fights dont really change their legacies at this point i dont think. this to me is like a retirement tour- like in golf with greg norman playing the seniors tour. unless they take on prime champions- these fights are pretty much for exhibition purposes- nothing to affect their legacy. and also perhaps braggin rights. i think it would be very very hard to have bhop surpass roy in all time standings- theyre both up there. but when the history books look back- it ll be prime for prime- and legacy for legacy not necessarily who beat who last. if that were the case- then holmes would be ranked higher than ali, etc.
