He has knocked off 2 HoF....how is that an alarming rate? Simple HoF Jones has at least 4 on his resume. Pacman has been at 130 for quite a while now, still has not fought a champion. Jones fought and beat 8 champions at LHW alone.
Vinny Paz, James Toney, Montell Griffinth, Virgil Hill, Clinton Woods arent cans. And those were the fighters featured in the video.
Name the cans. You won't be able to name more than 5 after he beat Hopkins. Unless we are starting to consider Top 10 ranked fighters and champions cans. People often exxagerate Jones "civil servants" resume. There are perhaps 3-6 average to below average fighters on his resume after the Hopkins fight.
Griffin beat Toney 2 times before Jones fought him, was unbeaten and a top 3 LHW. Hill is one of the longest reigning champions in any weight class ever and a HoF fighter. Pazienza shouldn't have been at 168. Not a bum, but not a good fighter there.
Pac needs to do a lot before his resume is cemented, and fighting Barrera does jack and **** for that. He needs to beat Marquez first off.
People make too big a deal out of a fighter staying on too long and "hurting his legacy". Most great fighters suck at the end of their careers. Griffin was a tricky awkward little guy, but I wouldn't say he beat Toney 2 times. THE JUDGES beat Toney 2 times. Griffin didn't deserve either decision.
I thought he deserved the 2nd one and have sinced scored the first one a win for Toney and a draw when I rewatched it again. However, this disqualifies Griffin from the "bum" catagory no matter what. Later on he wasn't as good, but he certainly was a good fighter.
Cans does seem to be the popular desription of Jones opponents..... I can't name too many, why dont you?:yep
I'm not sure but a lot higher than after losing 3/4, including 2 1-punch KO's. That hurt his ATG status considerably, IMO.
