How good could ODLH have been?

Pac was a left handed fighter only, but Roach has helped him deveop a deadly right hand.

ODLH had a world class left hand and his right hand was only there to protect his face. If he'd had Roach with him developing other punches, how good could he have been? Which fights would he have won that he lost?

Just the same, Roach is getting overrated hes no rocket science, Manny's right hook has developed a bit but fighters usually get more rounded over time. Mayweather Sr had Delahoya improve his right hand quite allot but he still was a left handed fighter, just like Manny is a left handed fighter who uses his right a bit more

De La Hoya was a great fighter in his prime, a beast at 130-147. I'm not sure Freddie could've made him any better. Maybe he would've provided better strategies in his biggest fights. Well, for sure Freddie would not have told him to 'box' the final rounds vs Trinidad. And then Oscar wouldn't have felt the need to try walk down and knock out Mosley in order to regain some of his machismo lost by running vs Tito. So his record would be better, but would he have made him a better fighter? I dunno.

De La Hoya got to P4P #1 with what he had. I mean he developed his right a bit more under Mayweather, but did that make him a better fighter? I don't think so, as he tended to neglect his left which was his best weapon just to prove a point he could use his right. He was definately a better, more formidable fighter before he met Mayweather. Maybe with Roach he would've been a more well-rounded fighter, but not as devasting as he was coming up.

Oscar should have stayed with his original trainer Alcazar......he looked his best with him,he was on his toes all the time and his in and out and combinations were way better.Plus his stamina seemed to be a little better back then to.( i know he was younger)

I think DLH expected to be stronger than a Lightweight, and Roach might have thought the same.

Would have made no difference, IMO
De La Hoya had the talent regardless, Besides Both matured as time went by.

Roach @ the time of De La Hoya's prime was also a student of sort's.
(Didn't reach his peak of coaching yet)

Trainer's can only do so much, The fighter also has to be special.

You're forgetting about Mayweather Sr.'s unparalleled insight. "Couple of good combinations... brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrttt..... brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrtttt...."
