What if he stays at light heavyweight to defend his title? How long until he is dethroned?

Until however long it takes him to fight Moore.

And Moore would be coming for him.

tbf, I've heard some contradictory reports as to whether the loss to Maxim spurred him to retire or if he always intended to retire even if he won.

I don't think he would defend it.

Unless he gets another pillow fist with a negative style he heads home, Maxim didn’t have the skills to hang and couldn’t impose himself the way someone like Moore would, Moore would be a mistake of the highest order.

He said he’d fight Jersey Joe Walcott for the Heavyweight Title after beating Maxim, but IMO he would’ve lost badly there.

He might have been just saying things.

Most likely SRR would go back to the Midleweight division afterwards. It would be a great achievment and then back to "his" division with all the flowers, marbles and honors under the "Triumph Arch".
However by doing so - in case he had won offcourse - would he avoid a fight with Moore, that most certainly would call him soon after?
