If Rocky defeat both Sonny Liston & Floyd Patterson, how will you rank him?

There was a reason rocky retried. Both Patterson and Liston were known then and would have beaten him.

Rocky was no Cassius Clay. Sonny would have clobbered him mercilessly.

Liston was one of the most brutal heavyweights that ever lived .

Knocking people out with just his jab alone .

A very complete fighter as well , Ali and foreman even said it .

Every one who just thinks of Liston as just a devastating powerpuncher couldn't be more wrong .

Liston would have beaten Rocky in his own game (Toe 2 toe) with ease .

The man had an unusual high tolerance for pain and was known to not even blink when fighters landed their best haymakers .

    Just kepted on coming .

The original question was not "Would Rocky beat prime Liston?" but "Would you rank Rocky if he had beaten Liston?".

When you stated that you thought Marciano's handlers ducked Liston, I pointed out that Liston was a nobody in 1956 and that Marciano had knocked bigger fighters into total unconsciousness. Again, the topic was about Marciano fighting two more fights before retiring.

As for Patterson, you said Floyd was too big for Rocky. So I pointed out he was a blown-up light heavy who was knocked out by Ingemar Johanson.

If you feel embarrassed, take it out on yourself, not me for responding to your stupid post.

Your post is so vague and half-baked, I wonder whether you just invented it. What time period are you even talking about???

If your so-called negotiations are supposed to have happened BEFORE Marciano's retirement, then it's completely false info. It's well-known that D'Amato was keeping Floyd at LHW until Marciano's retirement.

If you're talking about AFTER Marciano's retirement, then it's well-known that Rocky was thinking of making a comeback after watching Patterson and Johanson and thinking he could knock them out even without being in tip-top condition. But all the talks were cut short when Marciano just couldn't get in decent shape. He was really fat.
