I dont know what i would do if ROY won, and i do believe he has a higher chance to beat Calzaghe then bernard did.
Shot roy is much better the B-hop, even if he is shot he can beat most of the light heavyweights, i.e, he can definitely beat tarver, and capture the ibo and ibf, dawson is lookin pretty shitty too
so really jones is still among the best in the divison, he actually makes fights worth watching how he builds up all the momentum and jokes with the opponent thats entertainment.

Could it not be argued he pulled out one last great fight? That for this one fight, he turned back the clock a few years?

Wishful thinking, I know. But there's nothing wrong with a bit of hope. :D

Possibly move him past Pea for #1 over the past 20 years on my list. It would also put him around #20 p4p all time on my list.

Believe it or not, Jones has a chance against Calzaghe. Cal is looking old now. This would be a good way to end his career, and would boost him higher in the ATG department.

I agree. I also have Pea ahead of Roy at the moment, and would also put Roy over Pea IF he beat Calzaghe (which a few might not like)... I've actually got Pea closer to #15 than #20, so for me, Roy probably cracks the top 15.

Roy's already in my top 25.

Calzaghe is an undefeated champion, coming off a big win (impressive or not).

Roy was classed as shot or past his prime years ago. For him to beat Joe at this stage of his career, is a monumental feat.

It's just the way it is. Sadly, it's completely the opposite for Joe. Almost a lose lose.

Winning for Joe is almost a loss. Imagine what would happen if Joe was actually to LOSE. :scaredas:

Yeah, well, I know your playin'. :good

Calzaghe will win an easy decision. But seeing his hands raised against Roy... :tired :dead That's probably the one thing I can't live with.

Roy Jones WILL beat Joe Calzaghe. Bank on it. Based on his performance against Tarver III, Anthony Hanshaw and Felix Trinidad he has enough speed and power left to KO Calzaghe. He will make it look easy.

Styles makes fights. Roy Jones is all wrong for Calzaghe.

when the fight goes ahead i want to see 2 men in the middle of the ring with they hands at they waist slugging it out. Both can punch with some crazy angles and i think both would go down in a fight.

If this is truly JC's last fight take off them padded gloves and put your hands on the line

In 2002 when ring did its top 100 fighters of the last 100 years Jones was ranked 27th. I have not seen one since then.

I dont know that it would do a whole lot for Jones in the end. It will depend really on how calzaghe is seen. Not sure if it will go down as a Ali-Foreman Type fight or a Leonard-Duran 3 type fight. Alot of people didnt even know that Leonard and Duran fought a third time.

Short term it would boost Jones, long term Im just not sure.

Now I dont think that Jones will win, I think that Calzaghe will outwork him as well. However he better not allow Jones to land the right hands that Hopkins was landing:bbb
