I think he'd only have lost when he got too old and hittable, like he's been for some time. As soon as that happened, the next world-class guy he fought would have won the lottery.

Roy in his prime was unbeatable at 168. He beat a prime Toney at 168 who at the time was considered the best fighter in the world P4P. We would've destroyed any of the current champions at 168 including Bute, Ward, Kessler, Froch, etc...

How about some Cold Hard Truth:

He beat a prime Toney who had weight problems and he beat a green Hopkins.
    Good wins though.

He beats every single 168lber in history.

Roy was unbeatable at that weight.

Calzaghe or Benn would end up owning him bad.

Or Hopkins would have come up to get him.

Based on what? All 6 of his fights there? He didn't face anyone worth a **** except James Toney who couldn't make the weight anymore and it was his last fight at 168.

I'm sorry but to even make a statement like that without him even fighting a pressure type guy who can punch is idiotic. Jones folded when pressured and hit.

Probably Hopkins would be the first serious threat. Otherwise old age would be the main problem.

Jones didn't stay long at SMW but he was a beast while he was there. He was putting real spite into his punches and finishing fights in scary fashion in a way he stopped doing a few years later for some reason. You can't say he beat a green Hopkins cos Jones was at the same level at the time they fought - it was the first world title fight for both of them and Jones won clearly. I don't think you can say that Jones was unbeatable at SMW but I think he would have beaten any other SMW that we've seen so far in the division's history.
