no it cuz Eubank and Benn didn't want to travel to America to fight the big superstars.

Why didn't Toney get fights with Eubank and Benn? Did he duck them too, hell no Toney ducked no one, they were too scared to come to America to take on top boxers.

America bollox. They were selling out football stadiums making far more money fighting at home than they could ever hope to achieve in the US. Toney and Jones would have had to come here and didn't have the balls.

'I don't think you can say that Jones was unbeatable at SMW but I think he would have beaten any other SMW that we've seen so far in the division's history'

This is a serious contradiction re read it.

Jones avoided many top fighters. McCallum was past it when they fought , and Hopkins was green even though he was older than Jones, all fighters peak at different times and we all saw how hopkins got better and better.
Jones avoided Benn and Collins bigtime they both called him out., Geeeez Benn offered to come to America and fight Jones and let Jones have the purse and still Jones kept stump. Benn avoided nobody he`d come to america already and beaten De Witt and Barkley etc. Whose to say that Eubanks awkward counter style would`nt have ended up with him putting his powerful right hand on Jones chin and knocking him Sparko????? Jones fought Calzaghe when he had nothing to lose which says alot.

You hit The Nail On The Head There!!! Yup Jones has no plan B whereas Calzaghe has a plan B and C.

I think Eubanks style would have befuddled and frustrated Jones, and Benn wouldnt have given Jones any time to think, which Jones liked to do.

fact is that whenever roy jones faced adversity, he folded like a lawn chair

fact is roy jones is a proven banned anabolic steroids drug cheating disgrace :-(

fact is that a 36 year old calzaghe 'lacyied' roy jones purely on a skill level :deal

fact is that you have a vcash total of 75 and it perfectly sums up your distinct lack of boxing knowledge :dead

fact is that you have just been pwned live on esb by a legend :pwned

Prime for prime Roy would have blatantly struggled with Calzaghe's style if it wasn't for one thing - he was a much better class of fighter. Eubank wasn't even nearly good enough, nor was Benn, Collins and McClellan.

On the flipside, Calzaghe was more enduring, and I don't think it matters that Roy went up and down in weight, by '06 Roy would probably have struggled with Calzaghe anyway.

  10. those are excuses toney could never execept the fact that he could beatdown and hopkins was fighting for a world title and lost i dont want to hear he was "green"

:deal Toney himself was a beast in his prime and I'd also pick him to beat everyone of today's 168lbers. RJJ might of struggled say maybe with someone of Bute's style, but Bute hasn't fought an elite fighter as of today. He shows he is fast, powerful, and a southpaw, a perfect trifecta to be hard to beat and give Roy problems, but without having fought a 168lb elite like Froch, Ward, Johnson, or Kessler, their is no telling how good Bute really is and I am not convinced yet even though Bute does have the style to trouble RJJ.
