so every fighter that ages is shot?:huh what inabilities does RJJ have as a fighter these days?
:good As a Jones fan who truly beleives still has what it takes to beat JC, i have to respect your post. Very intellegent points...
If Roy Jones Jr defeated Joe Calzaghe today it would elevate him into the top 10-15 of all time in my estimation. He's past his prime so it'd be one hell of an achievement.
I was gonna quote you aswell san rafael and give you prop's on your post, I agree 100%. IMO...also Jones Jr. defo fight's for legacy now, he knows he missed out on being called The Best Ever by not taking on all comers during his physical Prime. Calzaghe is and will be the biggest fight of Roy's "Post prime" boxing life. what was once considered a throw away fight for Jones Jr. has now become a must have. can he pull it off? I'd defo like to see Jones Jr. repair his rep... But Joe Cal deserves to be the odds on favorite to defeat Jones.
Roy Jones Jr isn't dangerous in 2008. Inactive blown up Tito was able to exchange with Roy for 12 hard rounds, and that isn't a good sign. Roy Jones Jr and Calzaghe would look a lot like Hopkins, but Roy gets tagged a lot because his reflexes aren't what they were. Yes, he is still very fast all things considered, but he'd probably get knocked out late against the workrate and combination punching of Joe. Roy has had his day.
I'm sorry, but if Glen Johnson and Antonio Tarver can starch Roy Jones, Joe Calzaghe can too. It most likely won't happen, but to say "no way in hell does he KO Jones" is a little bit naive
