as a roy jones fan, even i cant deny the writing on the wall. it is a good time to bow out or at least fight a safe fighter to go out a winner. i wish i could say he is still the old roy jones, but so far from being close to what was before as far as hype and ability.

but as a shot fighter? maybe compared to what he once was, but if lebedev is a top contender at cruiserweight, maybe he could go through safer fighters and win a title and cruiserweight.

is it a ridiculous to say that roy jones is still a decent fighter on a world class level with good hand speed and a suspect chin?

i remember watching jones vs tarver 3 and jones vs calzaghe and hearing emmanuel steward's admiration of the past prime jones. i think emmanuel steward would be a great asset to jones, im sure they have mutual respect with each other and steward has a great track record with world class fighters with suspect chins (hearns, i think moorer, wladimir and lewis).

could roy be a better fighter with stewards help?
could he win a world title at cruiserweight?

Steward would slap you in the face if you suggested this to him.

And Manny would be right. It is time to retire for Roy Jones, nothing else.

The age get him, just simple. It is very sad that great fighters not know when it is time to hang the gloves up.

Lewis was one of them you knows it. Great Champion and he retired at the right time.

Roy Jones would do well with maybe Doc Brown & Marty McFly.

He really needs to hang up the gloves. I was rather indifferent about him in terms of rooting for him, but the guy had insane talent. He's going to end up with health problems if he keeps fighting. I hope he retires.

Don't be silly. Even I would whoop Jones Jr these days.

I'd much rather he hire Richard Schaefar to put his debts in order.

RJJ is a shot-to-**** corpse, Manny would refuse to train him.

I followed Roys whole career and he needs to stop or he might possibly end up like his biggest fear(G-Man)

Even if it happens Steward wouldn't be a good choice, Roy's style is too far away.

RJJ should slap himself in the face. He might still be dreaming from the KO he got from Tarver.

That Lebedev KO was the equivalent of Louis getting knocked through the ropes by Marciano. It saddens me to say so but Roy needs to hang it up. He can't compete at the top level any more. I don't think his heart has been in it since the Calzaghe fight anyway.
