How do you think he would have done?

HW Champ for 10years, he has the skill, speed, style to befuddle and outclass Sullivan, Fitzsimmons, Jeffries, Sharkey, Corbett beating them all. He'd be a big puncher back then too and don't mention 30round fights, hes easily as fit as the old timers

Jones' reaction time means he's expert at slipping shots rather than blocking them with those tiny mitts. A very serious advantage.

Has he ever had trouble with his hands?

Other RJJ advantages in the 30round era:

RJJ doesnt waste shots so wouldnt tire in long fights
RJJ wouldnt be small at HW in this era
The HW pace was pretty slow meaning RJJ would have even more time to work

He would be if he ran into John L Sullivan or Jim Jeffries.

Sullivan was shorter than RJJ, Jeffries was much bigger around the size of Ruiz. Jeffries had problems with a smaller fighter in Fitzsimmons. And Fitz was past prime, much slower with a poorer defense

Jones would have ben the best boxer of his eara. However because of the political climete of the dayhe probbly would have never gotten a tittle shot. Espicily at heavyweight. The Jones-Peter Jackson, Jones-Sam Langford, Jones-Sam McVea, Jones-Jack Johnson and posibbily Jones-Hary Wills fights would be how we would mesure Jones.

I think we're assuming that many top white fighters would fight him.

RJJ wouldn't be as good as he was if he was born in that era

jones wouldn't fight like he did now, and with his glass chin he'd be a good fighter, but wouldn't dominate like we would thing, someone would hit him, and as been shown, he goes down when hit hard, and what's harder than punches by 5oz gloves? look at some mma fights if you don't believe me.

    Some would and some wouldnt.

Most of them would if they did not hold the title at the time so he would likley have fought a good few of them.
