I think it some what redeems him, that is to say he rides of into the sunset. If he keeps fighting and winning it might help him a little more but a loss after that would almost nullify it. Regardless it would be a great win and be that little nudge up the ATG rankings.

Well, it's virtually meaningless to Hopkins' standing but with Roy, I think it would be a shocking comeback victory over a top man in the sport, regardless of his age and yet for a lot of us, it would only solidify his place in our lists, rather than raise it. I've already got him quite high.

I don't see it as impossible. Roy is way passed it but Bhop is old too. Roy's style would always cause problems for Hopkins as well.

I see roy winning. Styles makes fight. Slow, 10 punches a round, not a power puncher. Hopkins is perfect for roy.

He'd a have then beaten a green AND shopworn Hopkins.

He got stopped in 1 by Danny Green in his last fight - This is not a fight for legacy, it's for retirment money, which I won't be contributing too.

Can't beleive Golden Boy are putting this **** on in theatres.

Then you're going to be shocked at the final in a trilogy, airing in 2028.

I'm picking the upset, but I think it would be his best win. To answer the question. It would move him up a lot.

I pretty much capped Roy's career after the Tarver series. Kind of like how I don't include Ali or Tyson's later fights, or even Holmes, etc. when looking at their overall careers.

I cannot see it as impossible to beat a guy who is 45 years old. It cannot help his ranking. Beating each other does not do anything.

This will be shown for free in the Philippines.

They showed the pre fight primer for this fight a couple of days back.

A 3o minute show. Interesting. I enjoyed it, and am a bit more interested in seeing the fight.

Seeing Richard Schaefer talking in a couple of segments, blabbering like a boxing expert with his german accent kinda pissed me off.

    He annoys me so much.

That Mackie Shilstone is a bit weird for me, though. I dunno why.

It obviously would help quite a bit.... If ANYONE beat hopkins right now it would be a very nice win, and roy is no exception. Although i wont really, and im serious, be THAT suprised if Roy wins this. And while it would be one of the nicest wins of his career, i dont think it really reshapes his legacy or anything other then give him a very very nice way to end his career.

Let me put it this way, i will actually be more suprised if Quintana beats Berto, and Ruiz beat Haye, then if Roy beats Hopkins.

I think roy will ALWAYS matchup well with Hopkins... and weaknesses are only weaknesses if someone can take advantage of them.

I am not quite sure Hopkins can close the distance or have the speed to effectively deliver the beatdown he wants to, and with jones still being faster then hopkins, i think he can outpoint hopkins for the first 4 rounds or so, then make it interesting down the stretch (I have flashes of seeing Hopkins drop Roy with a short nice right hand however around the 7th or 8th)

But i def have this fight closer then most....
