I didnt expect there to be any doubt in your mind . But lets remember we know that Jones is a known cheat and we dont know how long he had been doing so :dead.
Montell Griffin was able to walk Jones back and take his game away. Calzaghe would have done that and so much more, unloading fast combos, and taking Jones heart away :smoke

Lets not focus on what we don't know and focus on what we do know which is Roy tested positive for steroids once. You're right Griffin did give him trouble but he was still unable to defeat Roy via decision or KO, I'm not counting the DQ because he didn't beat Roy, Roy beat himself. Now I also know I'm not going to be able to change your mind on who would win this fantasy matchup (considering you're a big Calzaghe fan), but to say that Joe would ruin Roy is ludicrous.

Roy did not test positive for steroids. He tested positive for Ripped Fuel which at the time you could buy over the counter w/o a prescription. It was the Richard Hall fight and with all of Hall's whining after the fact he had 14 more times the amount of Ripped Fuel in his system then Roy did.

Now to the hypothetical. I don't believe anyone touches Roy at 168 and Joe would have not have been on the radar screen at the time anyway.
By the time Cal was at a point when it could have been tossed around Roy was well entrenched at 175.

As far as the ducking goes with the like likes of Benn, Eubanks, Collins, Watson and Darious etc etc well its a two way street. They never wanted to travel anymore then he did so the entire topic is a red herring.

Roy said he took ripped fuel, but I read a report someone posted on here recently and it explained how Ripped fuel couldnt have increased Jones body levels by the 6 times they were raised. Which makes some sense as Hall also was several times over, so what did he have? More ripped fuel than Jones?
S Johnson tested positive after beating B Schwer, and said he bought something for a cold, in England and thats what was found, the only thing was you couldnt buy that product in England. Same thing with Jones saying he took ripped fuel.
All the same, whatever it was, was cheating :dead

Perhaps. I never read the article. He was caught once with a questionable substance in his body which at the time was not a banned one. If it was banned after the fight then so be it. Fact of the matter is neither Jones or Hall were taken to task. **** one of our rowers years ago lost her medal due to testing mildly for an antihistamine.

Imo Joe Calzaghe is the best super middle that ever lived or more specifically since the origin of the division. Having said that I think Roy beats him. He just never stayed their with a year or two for Cal to even consider a match-up. Would have been a cracking fight though.

Going up to Heavyweight was a huge mistake for Roy. Even worse was coming back down which really brought on his demise a lot quicker. You can not strip off all that muscle, that quickly, at that age and expect to be the same. Fatigue became much more of a factor after he did this.

Roy would not stay unbeaten, but the end of his career would be much more favourable and look a lot more cosy, had he not jump above light heavy.

Your missing what I wrote previous. Roy was caught with a substance that increased his levels illegally. He claims it was ripped fuel, but it could have been anything and not neccessarily a legal over the counter product from what the article was saying

Eventually he would start having problems making weight and wouldnt be at 100% just like Adamek waited too long at LHW and didnt fight to his potential.
