You're saying that because this 38 year old version of Ruiz possessed such a well-known granite chin?

The guy who previously was knocked down by Golota and James "Burger King" Toney and knocked through the ropes 14 years prior to that by David Tua with a single punch that had him unconscious for a minute or two? :deal

Where does this "Iron chinned John Ruiz" myth come from? The British media at it again?

Sorry Jack, I have to disagree with you. Ruiz is not Wald, and Haye is not Wald. Yes Wald has been down, but not out cold. Haye has been down as well from lesser fighters than Wald. I think the fight would be a great fight if it gets made. My biggest question is can Haye take a real shot on the chin and keep standing? also don't agree with the Wald and ruiz comparison, Wald is so much better. Haye vs Harrison was a disaster for both fighters. Can Haye Take a shot from a better fighter, we will see if the fight happens.

The Haye-huggers are just going to have to learn the hard way. I'll be here on ESB right after the brutal KO and enjoy the deafening silence of Haye's delusional supporters.

It's stupid to compare Wlad with Ruiz anyway, Ruiz is dirty and fights on the inside and uses the jab when he's somewhat close, Wlad uses it on the outside and fights nothing like Ruiz

Cause Haye would fight like this against wlad?

he came in heavy for that fight and admitted he never trained properly, wasnt at his best that night, came in a lot lighter against audley and that is what he will come in around against wlad.

I love how Haye stands with his back to the ropes and Ruiz punches a straight right with *ZERO* preparation or any feinting whatsoever. And Mr. David "uberhuman reflexes" Haye stands there like a statue and takes the punch, he didn't even see it coming.

Now let me get this straight. So this is the ultra-elusive Haye who like Neo from Matrix never gets hit and Wlad would never land a glove on? Did I get that right? :think

Madballster - you can't use reason with the brainwashed. This is the same nonsense I remember hearing before Hatton took on Floyd. Self-delusion. Haye is going to be Wlad's pool-boy after this beatdown.

anyone can edit and make someone look bad from editing.

Haye does better agiasnt bigger men, taller opponents throw down at him,he actually does better avoiding punches being thrown from above going down at him than at the same height ish like ruiz did,and also wlad does not move around chase and pressure like ruiz did.

haye had 4 weeks with no sparring and still retired ruiz with ease.

if you seriously think wlad vs haye isnt competitve with out either guy being able to win than you are pretty stupid, biased and blind.

both have such power to KO the other, both supposedly have weak chins and bad stamina.

Wlad will try lean and hold and tire and frustrate Haye, but Haye will have the reactions to catch wlad when he tries to clinch and lean on him,he will stop wlads attack by making the jab inefective by head movement, pawing the jab and slipping the jab,and his fast footwork.

Hayes style vs wlads style,i just think Haye wins.hes faster, moves around quicker, counters explosively, wlads defense (clinch/hold,jab at distance)wont look so good vs a fast puncher who has decent footspeed, knows how to be out of range and get in range at angles and get out again, having powerful combinations in him.

but of course wlad has a good chance of winning with his power.

It's not as simple as "Ruiz was able to land a jab, so therefore Wlad can too because Wlad is better". ruiz fights differently. Ruiz bulls his way in. Wlad stands tall and just sort of stiff arms you to keep you at bay. In his most recent fight, Sam Peter, who sucks, was able to easily slip Wlad's jab, until he got tired from a mix his own bobbing and weaving and Wlad's clinching.
In fact, dodging Wlad's jab is not hard at all. What's hard is getting punches off after you dodge it, because Wlad immediately clinches anything that is closer than an arms length away. The reall question is if Haye will be quick enough to counter and get out before getting clinched?

This is how he was used to fight as a cruiser where he was a bigger man. Obviously it does not work at HW. He will get exposed sooner or later.
