No different, the tactic would of worked with Ruiz in any type of shape.

He does not move his feet anywhere remotely close to get himself in range. then, move those feet to stay in range. And have the balance and conditioning to throw while moving those feet.

Like lots of guys, his skills are from the waist up & not the complete package. Just get opponents that stand in front of him--so it becomes a matchmaking issue and he is fortunate to fight in a time where there are not too many good legs out there.
