Would the Chavez fight have happened to settle who was the greatest from mexico. JCC won his first title at super feather in 1984

By the time fight will have happened (85-87), Sanchez will probably be past his prime. Dont forget he had some hard fights before his death and would of been a rich man

I fancy Chavez to win on points or late stoppage

just for the hell of it, if they did fight around that time it would be a probably pre-prime chavez against a just post-prime sanchez. based on styles i like sanchez. i think he had the economic movement to avoid getting trapped too often against the ropes, dominating the fight in the middle of the ring with faster hands and just as accurate punching. he had the deceptive kind of power, where you don't realize you've been hit in the same spot all night until the knockout. sanchez for me would connect all night on chavez who would gradually be hurt and disuaded. sanchez had a pretty solid chin and i don't see either man scoring a knockout but sanchez taking it in the championship rounds from a fading chavez.

sanchez wins a UD, something like 8-6-1

Chava beat Juan Laporte more convincingly than JCC did.I know styles make fights but the JCC-Laporte fight was at 130,above Juan's prime weight.

Sanchez was the type of guy that put out so much per fight, something like Monzon in the manner that they stepped up to the plate with a challenge and rose to the occasion...I remember S.S. fight against Gomez and Monzon vs Napoles and Valdez...these guys just went into another gear when the opposition was a test.

It's totaly possible that Chavez could have chalanged Sanchez for his first championship. He would have likely moved up to 130 at some point. Unless he was going to chalange Eusebio Pedroza who held the WBA championship while Sanchez held the WBC championship. I think his move up in weight would have come sooner rather than latter.
He could be coming off wins over Rafael Limon (WBC 130), Bobby Chacon, Hector Camacho and Rafael Solis. Snchez would also be 24 years old.
I don't know who wins. This would not be a changing of the gaurds type fight. This would be a Barrera/Morales type match up.
