    :patsch Oh these Sundays!

Canelo is still a TEENAGER and fought about the same kind of opposition the guys above mentioned. In fact, he came through the Mexican scene undefeated, something Juan Manuel Marquez, Antonio Margarito or Rafael Marquez failed to do, and Alvarez was like 15-16 years old.

Protected! :nut Look at his protected resume and you'll find some good wins, 'noname' Miguel Vazquez who since upset unbeaten Breidis Prescott, Euri Gonzalez, a solid B-level contender, 2-time world title challenger Jose Cotto or Miguel Rosales who's on a roll since the Canelo KO. Alvarez started to fight adults 6 years before becoming one (July 2011) and he's... well promoted (protected)? Lol.

Lovemore is actually a very good fight to make I like it. He is the perfect opponent to gage where you stand at 147 and he is very durable one tough hombre if a slightly shopworn as shown in his match with Magic Mattew Hatton.

Exactly, everyone on the internet is so keen to write off a boxer whether they are a top pro or a good up and coming guy like Alvarez. The kid is 19 years old, undefeated and is beating much more experienced men and showing great potential while he is still learning his craft. That is admirable and as a boxing fan you have to look forward to see how far this kid can go and if he can fulfill the potential that he clearly has.

Okay. Canelo is not even 20 yrs. old yet and some of you dickheads think he should be matched up against Jones, etc and you are quick to call him overrated. Like any fighter coming up, even the greats had early knockdowns or even losses to unheralded fighters in their careers. I think the young Canelo actually looked highly impressive in coming back from a rude awakening and being able to keep his composure and still be able to stop a veteran who had never been stopped before. Canelo is not Wilfred Benitez, but he's alot better than most 19 yrs olds. Give the kid a break. He'll eventually get better and fight the best there is out there.

That would be too much too soon for Alvarez.

Someone mentioned Lovemore N'Dou. Someone like N'Dou would be perfect.

Gomez I think would be a good fight for him, not alot of power there but a very well ranked contender.

I am just not understanding why "CERTAIN" fighters have "go through fire" to get the same, sometimes less Hype or Recognition than "other fighters". Within their first 20 fights, fighters like Andre Ward, Andre Dirrell, Antwone Smith, Mike Jones, Devon Alexander and Danny Jacobs, are fighting Legit Competition...While Julio Cesar Chavez, Amir Khan, and Saul Alvarez get brought along slowly with these "WALK-IN-THE-PARK fights. And everyone, on all the website and publication are calling these Mutha'fukas'....STARS!!!! And Yet, in these same Publications and Websites...They are SCREAMING for Jacobs, Smith, guys like Hylon Williams, Omar Henry, Demetrius Andrade, Shawn Porter, Hank Lundy, Prentice Brewer, Rashad Holloway to STEP-UP IN COMPETITION....And all of these fighters have less then 20 fights.

I think they are doing a great job with Jacobs, but I think they are being more careful with Alvarez because he doesn't have the amateur pedigree a Jacobs, Berto, or Rigondeaux would have. Especially Mexican fighters, many start their careers at a very young age, that's why fighters like Canelo are 19yrs old, but with 30 pro fights. But in the case of Canelo and Khan, I do see a future in them unlike Chavez, Jr, who is already 40-0 and not improving at all. I agree, I don't like the overrating and hyping either, but that's the way boxing's always been and its a business so alot of times they will market a fighter like the best thing since sliced bread.
