What if Felix Savon had gone pro after winning gold at the 1992 Olympics? Could he have become a world champion? What if he had fought Bowe, Holyfield, Lewis, and Tyson?
felix would beat the 90s version of tyson by sttopage, he would beat the fat version of bowe in 1995-96 maybe even by stoppage, holyfield would be a great fight and the only guy that would beat him at this time 96-98 is lewis.
Savon would crumble mentally in the first press conference when Tyson started making some gay slurs about him (can't remember who said it, but one of the Cuban guys over in General said once it was widely suspected and hushed up that Savon was gay back in the Cuban amateur system.)
probably wouldnt of fought bowe as he was miles past it at around 96, he could have fought a old holyfield or very old holyfield, and the same with tyson, the lewis fight imo would be after 97 where lewis would be at his peak. but as someone said ^ he could have been like harrison, or been great, who knows
Cuban Heavyweight usually get that taste of freedom and pack on the weight, we have not yet had one as champion and as pro's they lose that edge. Disciplined amateurs but as pro's they lose it. Other Cubans in weight making classes have been highly successful. Savon was a special fighter 2nd possibly only to Stevenson so I give both those men a great chance as a pro
