    At 154 lbs.

What if Sugar Ray had n't been afflicted by that retina injury and had carried on fighting in 1982 ?

Let's say Wilfred Benitez defends his Light Middle crown against him and loses a second time. Ray then defends it against 'The Hitman' Who wins ?

Ray by a nailbiting decision.I don't think Tommy would totally outfight Ray, yet I feel Ray still would not be able to do a great deal of damage until late.

It's probably much the same of Hearns winning the early rounds and Ray coming on strong late. Ray maybe adapts a bit but generally the same style issues that occured in fight 1 and 2 bear fruit here

Don't Expect anything to change in just 1 year, it's The same result Leonard KO LATE..

This will almost certainly be a long fight, and when they start slugging it out in the late rounds, because they are to tired to stick and move, the man who is more durable with the better chin wins, and that is clearly Leonard..

What about if the 12 round rule was in effect? Then Tommy decisions Ray.

You can't ignore the fact that Tommy never tried to make Welter again, due to being so weight drained in the first fight. Tommy takes it at 154, possibly by stoppage.
