Does he even need Floyd? Say he beats Junior, Golvetkin and another top MW. Can a case be made that Sergio is an ATG?

What does he have to do for him to be considered an ATG?

Will a few wins at 168 against good competition do it?

That would make him a Hall of Famer but not an ATG. I think he probably needs Floyd to get to HOF level, but even then the size discrepancy there might make any win look less impressive. Otherwise there simply aren't enough good opponents at 154 and 160 for him to fight to get into the Hall, and he doesn't have enough time to wait for guys to emerge. Maybe, and this is a huge maybe, if he stays at the top of 160 for 2-3 more years he'd get in anyway, but it's just a really weak division right now.

Only beating the Ward-Dawson winner at the full 168, after Chavez of course, would make me start to consider whether he's an ATG, and even that's not entirely clear. In that case he'd have gone lineal in two divisions in a very short amount of time after being the de facto best at 154.

Nah, he needs to clean out the division Klitschko style to be an atg considering how weak the division is at the moment. With that said, if he were to end his career by beating Jr., Golovkin, Pirog and Quillin I think he'd have an argument...IMHO.
