Martinez takes it by 3 or 4 rounds. There might even be a TKO. It was obvious that PW's size was a big factor in the fight since it made Martinez have to reach a lot with his shots. The other big factor was PW's amazing workrate and his capacity to take big shots and keep coming. PW better thank his lucky stars Sergio isn't that big a puncher otherwise he woulda been outta there midway through the fight.

Floyd has neither size nor workrate and I dunno how he would react if he would get hit by the shots Williams absorbed.

Trying to outbox the best boxer of the era is suicide. Floyd wins on points 9-3. Let's not let tonight's event overrate anybody, but its clear as day that Williams is indeed overrated.

Floyd would win a decision. When did Martinez become an elite fighter? He gave Williams a good fight. That is good, but let's not go overboard. His strengths were being a little awkward and fast and Floyd would be fast also so he would probably outbox him. This is a fight Floyd would probably sign. A low risk fight he can outbox the guy in.

Great comments guys. I agree, I think Sergio is more comfortable playing the boxer and Floyd is a better boxer. Sergio would have to stalk him and punish him.

    What risk?
Who has Martinez ever beaten to be given such a lofty title??
The fact that he and Williams were in a tough fight, shows poorly in Williams, not well on Martinez.

However, would Void have Pierre Benoist on his side?

I disagree, Martinez showed class tonight and many look on his performance as a very good one against a top fighter. They were both very good and either would give Floyd a test but I don't think either beats Floyd.

The fight would look drastically different from the Williams fight. Floyd would slow down the pace significantly and make it a technical fight. So Floyd wouldnt subject himself to any kind of punishment.

Bad matchup for Mayweather, I'm surprised the poll is favoring Mayweather by such a large margin.

    Shouldn't be surprised.

Mayweather doesn't lunge in like Williams.

Now don't get me wrong. Martinez is good. Williams just made him look fantastic tonight. The whole game changes when you can't depend on the other guy giving himself to you on a silver platter. Williams is a **** poor defensive fighter, which should be obvious to anyone who has followed his career from the start.
