He is great just falls short against the other Sugars. Nothing wrong with that but Mosley will have a better later career than them if he beats Floyd and perhaps Pacquiao.

 

Id have to say no. Even if by miracle he were to knock out Floyd i still wouldnt put him on there level.

Even he beat Floyd 2 times and than beats Pac I'm not sure if he deserves it. But it'll be easier to say it once he's retired. It's very difficult to rank people that are still fighting

No, Floyd is great but Sugar Ray Robinson and Leonard fought FEARED opponents and knocked them out.
Floyd is not feared....by anyone. He is great but people don't think about being knocked out by Floyd. More so, outclassed.
Hearns, Hagler, Duran, Benitez...etc are people who were feared but Leonard beat them and in weight classes outside of his own.
Let's not even mention Ray Robinson. My fingers would break.
Sugar Shane deserves to hold the moniker because of his speed and power, just not the resume.

 

Well Shane is just making best with what he has. He has no Hearns, Benitez, Hagler, Duran, LaMotta, or Basilio. It's not like he avoids challenges either, the guy fights who he can.

 

Both Sugar Rays were better fighters than Mosley. They would both have stopped Golden Girl, beaten Forrest and Winky Wright decisively. PBF will beat Mosley and shockingly enough to Mosley, BHOP, ODLH, Brother Nazeem Richardson et al he is going to outclass Mosley. PBF may even stop him late.

SRL would be in most people's top 15 ever I imagine, and SRR is the greatest ever for goodness sakes!

Beating Floyd and Pac may lead to him being mentioned in the same conversation as Leonard but he'll still be clearly behind him. There's nothing Shane can realistically do that will lead to him being mentioned in the same breath as Robinson.
