If Shane beats Floyd...does that put him on par with the two other SUGARS?

Shane could beat Floyd and Pac and he still wouldn't surpass them.

I think as time passes he and the other current elite fighters will be remembered more fondly than they are currently ranked. I don't however think he would be on par with either Sugar's but he would be a legend in his own right. Its typically harder for people to associate current athletes with those of past athletes who tales of greatness grow each time they are told.

:happyGood point. Maybe Mosley can be on par with Leonard but SRR is in a universe of his own.

I was actually about to post a similar thread.

But I was not going to ask if he is at par with the other sugars, I was more like if will live to his sugar moniker.

No - but it should give him back what Vernon Forrest took away. Regardless, he's a great fighter and should be enjoyed.

If Mosley beats Mayweather at the age of 38, that would be a great victory. Still below the other Sugars in my opinion, but it will have to stand the test of time before it is finally concluded.

There is a certain sentimental nostalgia that surrounds old greats in my opinion, that current fighters will have to be retired for a while before their careers are even looked at in the same regard.

Lol stop man. Better then a prime Leonard? Gtfo. Leonard has beaten Duran, Hearns, Hagler while Mosley, Mayweather hasn't beaten anyone close to Leonard's level.

Hell no. Leonard has beat 50 times better fighters in Hagler, Hearns, Duran, Benitez then all of Mosley opponents Mosley beaten. Leonard only has 3 losses in which the last lost he was 40 years old coming back from a 6 years retirement.
