Who would of won, and how? If Spinks wins, is he more confident for a Tyson fight? If he still gets obliterated, and assuming Buster Douglas still wins, who takes the title from the big guy? If Holyfield wins, he presumably goes straight into a megamatch with Iron Mike, does he have the same result with a pre prison Tyson?
I think it would have been a competitive fight. Far more than the Tyson fight. Spinks was scared of the type of fight that Tyson was going to bring to him. Holyfield wouldnt present that type of fight and Spinks was a skilled fighter. It would be close but Holyfield would probably win.
It's a great matchup. Spinks vs Holyfield at Cruiser Spinks vs RJJ at LHW 2 fights I often wonder about. I think Holyfiled and Jones both beat him
this is actually one of those A + B-C type situations that makes sense seems logical and could have been an awesome different path in boxing
Meaning had Spinks met Holyfield in June of 1988 instead of Tyson? Holyfield had not yet made his transition from CW to HW.. And in either case i doubt that fight would ever happen because at the time Holy was a high risk low reward proposition, and Spinks was merely looking to cash out big on one last match....
