the lightheavy title how long would he have held it who would have taken it from him and if had decifded to go after the heavyweight title who would he have had to beat and if he did how long would he have held it and who would have taken it from him?
I don't think he would have stuck around at LHW for too long, perhaps making one defense & that's it, win or lose. He simply wasn't big or strong enough! However, IF he had emerged victorious that night against Maxim, there would be NO debate about who is the P4P Greatest of all time! Personally, Robinson is the Best P4P fighter EVER, & a Win over Maxim, capturing the LHW title, would have only enhanced this!
At that moment, Walcott was the heavyweight champion. Maxim held a decision win over Jersey Joe, then closely contested him in a pair of returns. However, JJW was dethroned by Marciano three months after Maxim-Robinson. For Maxim, Moore was just around the corner. If Robby made any attempt to defend at 175, Archie would have been the likely challenger. Joey was not the kind of lethal puncher the others were. For Ray, Maxim was probably a retirement bout, win, lose or draw. Moore could not be denied a shot any longer.
He would have been considered by many to be the greatest pound-for-pound boxer of all time. But, wait a minute... ???
