IF Stevenson fought Kovalev

Kovalev via KO. Adonis has a hell of a left hand and there's always the chance that he lands the bomb and takes Kov out of there. That said, prime Kov circa 2012-2014 (his absolute prime) was a beast with a capital B who hit harder than a Winter on welfare, was a much better boxer and who had 2 weapons at his disposal as opposed to just the one one-trick pony Adonis had (granted it was a hell of a trick).

KOD: Who is the hardest puncher that you have fought?

DB: The hardest puncher was [Sergey] Kovalev. He knows exactly how to use his height and leverage with punches. He keeps you on the outside, away from getting on the inside on him. He fights tall.

KOD: As we already touched on, you fought both Sergey Kovalev and Adonis Stevenson. Fight fans have begun clamoring for that explosive showdown at 175. If it happens, who do you foresee as the winner, and how?

DB: Kovalev, because he’s the more sound boxer. Both of them are strong and it’s going to be whoever lands the shot first, but I would go with Kovalev on that. They both have what it takes to knock each other out. Both of them are strong, but the thing with Adonis is that he does the same thing in each fight. Paw with the jab, paw with the jab, paw with the jab, left. He never really mixes it up. With Kovalev, he’s throwing combinations, he’s moving, and punching off angles.

The only other common opponent I can think of they fought off the top of my head is Pascal who beat Adonis in the amateurs and was stopped x 2 by Kov in the pros.

They would've shared a whole bunch of common opponents if fights between Adonis and Ward, Pascal (in the pros), B-Hop and Alvarez materialized all of which were mooted for Adonis but never came to fruition. Kov obviously fought all of those guys: Ward x 2 (should be 1-1 at worst), Pascal x 2, B-Hop, Alvarez and he's going to be facing Alvarez x 2 now as well and with the exception of Ward who never wanted any part of Adonis, and maybe B-Hop (my memory is foggy regarding the details about that one), most seem to feel the blame for that lies with Adonis
