If Stevenson wins tonight, will the boxing world take him seriously again?

    As we all know the guy has pretty much become a laughing stock in recent times. Would a victory over a very dangerous Badou Jack tonight erase any doubt? Or would he still have to prove himself in a very loaded division??

    No they will discredit his win by pointing to Badou Jack’s “glass”.

    It would be a solid win, arguably the best on his resume. Especially considering his age....

    I’d say a win over Jack doesn’t change much for Adonis, yeah, decent opponent for once and all but he’s held that title hostage for years now, 1 fight cannot erase that.

    Jack’s whiskers are of questionable durability but Stevenson will deserve all credit if he scores a KO.

    Good point, but a convincing win over a live opponent like Jack could definitely put his name on the map. It'll show that he can hang with top competition, but at 41 years of age his candle is flickering out by the hour. We shall see.

    His chin is definitely shakey but his recovery is world class. As someone mentioned Stevenson would have to catch Jack while he's cold to really secure a victory.

    Stevenson is the most hated boxer here (maybe 2nd most after Wilder).

    To this day people find many excuses to Bellew's decisive loss. They can't accept simple fact: Stevenson just destroyed and KTFO'd Bellew and would've done it once more if they met in the rematch.

    Didn't realise anybody gave a toss about the bellew fight. I thought people didn't like him cuz he is seriously unlikable, oh and he talked alot of smack about kovalev but clearly never had the intention to back it up in a fight.

    I’d say that fight only showed us were Bellend is at and what happens when he doesn’t swerve an elite operator.

    I just don't see how anyone can justify supporting Stevenson over Jack. Leopards don't change their spots.

    This. The hate against Adonis is real. He could even beat Kovalev, Bivol, and Beterbiev and people would just say that Bivol and Beterbiev are green and Kovalev is shot.

    2013 he was hot, but only two wins since 2016? Hard to take that serious. Unless he blasts Jack. That would be noteworthy to be inactive and then tear the house down.
