Sam Peter. Not sure his brain comprehends linear motions. But on a related note, this discussion came up with someone the other day...There are very few knockouts that come from right hands thrown straight down the pipe. Knockdowns sure, but not many knockouts. Seems that while straight punches are faster, more accurate and easier to land that you forfeit some power by not getting all of your body core behind it. Can anyone think of some true KOs from a straight right? Off the top I could only think of ONE.
Because his best punches are straight ones. If he was to fight Margo and Cotto now, I think he'd win. If he was to find with no straight punches, I think he'd lose. Hatton might beat him as well with these rules.

Its pretty hard to throw both straight and tight punches. Takes practice practice practice. The part of your brain that is focusing on throwing more compact punches is arguing with the other part of your brain's instinct which feels that winding up is more natural. Especially when you are brawling. If u watch Hagler-Hearns, in part of that first round Tommy who is normally a straight, compact puncher, started throwing Mayorga-style meathooks cuz he overcome by adrenaline.
Yep, theres another one. Good call. Actually the one I was thinking of was Akinwande-Williams. Surprised there aren't a ton more. Devastating right hand punchers usually get their guy out of there with an overhand or roundhouse.
Shane Mosley look he doesnt have a jab and barley throws a straight right its always a hook, uppercut or overhand.
Should probably elaborate. I think David Tua would be one of the best, even at this stage. If you can't keep him at bay with a jab he WILL catch you with one of his left hooks. That, combined with his incredible chin would make him one hell of a threat in this hypothetical situation. Matched against the likes of Peter I think we can agree that Tua has a better chin and would weather whatever Peter threw at him. Would be a heck of a fight but Tua would catch him eventually.
