If success as a boxer was solely based on how hard said boxer trained for the bout...

...who do you think would have a far greater career today? (past or present boxers)

So basically, hard work/work ethic during training camp >>>>> technical work/gameplan.

    Has to be Balboa.
Although some consideration must be given to Hatton given the beef he had to remove every camp.

He was a sick ****. He didn't like people coming to camp in the final week of training and refused to shake hands with anyone during that time. Had a little pocket of hate or rage or peat-fired determination going on and didn't want it disturbed. He was almost Zen-like in both his approach to training and his embrace of the results it produced.

He knew what he had to do in the ring to beat men who were essentially better than he was at what he did and he trained with this in mind. Marciano never beat a man he didn't break. And he beat them all.

Kosta Tszyu. No fighter, past or present, worked harder than him.

Probably the biggest overperformer ever, he wasn't the most gifted ever.
But he had the heart to take those on more gifted.

It's not easy to top these fellows. But, I do feel anyone who takes on Brother Naazim's towel workout might do it. Especially since Stewart joined in on that action.
