If Sultan opts to go to war early, can Klitschko vs Ibragimov be a Hagler vs Hearns?

Some think Ibragimov might come out smoking. If he does, Wlad will be forced to fight back. Can this be an explosive fight with both guys rocked and a knockout inside of three rounds?

no. wlad has a huge advantage in the firepower dept. sultan has a good power left but wlad has dynamite in both fists. both have below average to average chins. wlad throws straight shots, sultan loops most of his. u do the math.

wlad takes a 1/2 step back and explodes a right hand on sultan. btw, this is exactly what he did to Peter and Brewster when they tried this. The difference is Sultan doesnt have their chins. Sultan knows this. He's no idiot. Expect a potshotting Sultan.

This would be Sultan's best tactic, but I don't think it will happen.

I've posted my opinion already, but methinks Sultan should go right at him, step in under the jab and swarm, then step out the side, ala' his fight with Whitaker.

Sultan is open to rights and there's no guarantee he wouldn't get ko'd, but it also gives him his best chance to take Wlad out of his comfort zone and do damage.

To fight like he did against Briggs and Holy would besuicide, basically a concession of the fight, and very disappointing. But, something tells me Jeff Mayweather will keep Sultan in his moving and counterpunching mode.

So, let's hope we see the old, bloodthirsty Sultan.

It's not likely . . . Sultan will not reach round 4 and he'll be down on the canvas if he does that.

If he didn't do that against Briggs and Holyfield, what makes you think he'll do that against Wlad? . . . of all opponents? :yep

Sultan has indicated that he will fight that way. Look for the third round. Sultan can punch very hard whenever he wants to, but I think Vlad will weather the storm.

Well, Ibragimov knew he could out box Holyfield and Briggs. He knows he can not out box Klitshcko. This is why he might go for it and fight like he did vs Lance Whitaker or Ray Austin ealry in the match.

I'm not saying he will. I am saying this would make it an exciting fight, and would be Ibragimov's best chance.

Oh YES it's gonna be exciting till it last . . . but it's going to last very early that's why I'm saying it's unlikely.

Haha, no. Wlad is too strong and his chin is too weak for any kind of big brawl... it's either the powerful Sultan who would knock Wlad out cold or Wlad would land a huge shot tearing down Sultan's face. It they'd try to do a Hagler-Hearns, it would be over in 29 seconds.

GUYS! These soviet-schooled guys are crafty, very experienced boxers and not brawlers. They can mix it up of course but they are mostly counterpunchers looking for opportunities and if their opponents are passive we have a boooooooooooooooooooring fight. Wlad: jab. jab. jab. jab. jab. jab. jab. jab. jab. jab. jab. jab. right hand. count ten.

Neither Wlad nor Sultan will try to crack the other's head off... I see Sultan a bit more aggressive as he's used to be but he wouldn't indicate a brawl because he knows that Klitschko is a hard hitter...

This fight will be pretty boring and I see it goint to the cards... Or Sultan gets tired and after a boring few rounds Wlad KOs him... but that's still a boring fight before that. Or Sultan pulls off the upset early of if Wlad gets tired. Still boring up to that point.

Wlad does not have a stamina problem. Also have you ever been hit by a 250 pound man? Do you box?

IMO, he will use the same safety first approach that he did against Briggs. Wlad will be sledge hammer jabbing his teeth out until Wlad sees the opening for the right, and night-night Sultan.

Once a guy around 250 lbs tried to punch me but he was a fat guy so I was on the other corner with a beer in my hand when he finally able to knock the air out.

Wlad lost 2 fights because of his stamina. Of course I believe that he's improved that but you have to see that he hasn't been pushed to the limit lately, he won all his fights as he was able to set his pace and throw those quick jabs and some hooks. Byrd wasn't a big threat, Peter was, but he failed to throw 80 punches per round just went for the KO, Brewster, Austin couldn't take away the jab so Wlad didn't have big problems, those were sparring sessions except the one legitimate KD in the Sam fight.

It's not that Sultan is better than the other ones, but he's much different in style, he's got the tools to take Wlad's jab away and if he can be a little bit aggressive taking the least chances and make Wlad fight at a higher pace it can be a factor. But I yet to see Sultan doing that.

He threw an average of 40 jabs in his last fight. I think his Stamin is fine now that he is with Manny. I respect your opion. I just think Wlad is better than he is.

Sultan really doesn't have a good chance of beating Wlad by decision. He pretty much needs to look for a k.o. His best chance might be to try and come out firing. If he takes it slow he runs the risk of getting caught without throwing much back. Regardless of the pace the bout is fought at Wlad wins.
