If Jermain Taylor beats Pavlik will that catapult him back into most people top10 PvP rankings ?

It seems like the majority of people on this forum are going with a Pavlik KO win.

Obviously on that note im going to say Taylor will win by decision outboxing and outslicking Pavlik.

As much as I hate Taylor, he's so unlikeable for some reason, he's clearly a step above Miranda and in Sep it will show.

I hate Jermain Taylor but I see him surprising some people by rising to the occassion. I hope he gets obliterated by Pavlik but if he does win he'll definetely return to my P4P list.

If he wins, yes, Ring will definitely place him back in the top 10 p4p

The thing with Taylor is not that he's fought subpar competition, because he's actually fought some amazing competition, but it's how he's doing it, narrowing getting by. Pavlik might be the perfect person to pull off a big win against. There are gonna be a lot of bombs thrown and landed. Could be good.

Taylor never left my top 10:nono

Taylor will win by stoppage. I personlally like the kid, but don't like Manny in his corner. He wants to make Jermain Wlad, or Lennox, but Taylor is way more aggressive than both of them, and he's not taking to this style as well. Taylors a very active fighter who seems better going off his natural instincts in the ring than rattling his brain trying to do what Manny ask. Now he's not as aggressive, he holds more and he seems to be thinking to much!

No disrespect to Manny, but he's taking Taylor down a notch IMO!!

Man i feel the same way i understand that manny is a good trainer but the combination of the two just dosent work. Taylor is going to open up this fight and be quite impressive

If Pavlik wins decisively, does he belong in the top 10 p4p? I think so.

That's too early. All he did was beat Miranda and if he wins against Taylor he'll beat a guy who's not presently in the top ten.

    . . . back to the thread . . . I'm with Taylor.

everyone will respect Jermain if he beats(i think he will) Pavlik except for Hopkins of course, because he is still :twisted: that he lost twice.

    yep. :good

No, becuase he's already there. Beating an unproven up and comer should not trump defeating the #1 P4P guy in Hopkins twice.

Seriously, when did Jermain get knocked out of the top 10 pound for pound?

He goes basically even with Hopkins and Winky and gets demoted?
Where is the reasoning? Because he had a tough fight with a slick boxer in Cory Spinks?

You guys are a joke sometimes.

Taylor is in the top 7 pound for pound without question.
I lump him in the same group as Hopkins and Winky.
They all come in somewhere between #3-#7 p4p.

If he beats Pavlik, it solidifies his stature.
If he demolishes Pavlik, he might even jump on my list.

If you think Taylor is going to "Bully" Pavlik, you're nuts. I see the fight as 50/50, but if Taylor tries to bang toe to toe, that favors Pavlik in my mind. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see it, but based on JT's last couple fights, it's not going to happen. If it does, he should bring a pillow.
