Just don't see the point mate, honestly. If you're going to ask this question, then we may as well ask it about every fight in which a guy who was knocked down went on and won. There are thousands. What value does this question have?

And the question itself is a waste of time as the answer is very obviously no. Boring.

hypothetically speaking no, because if he had knocked out pavlik in 2 rounds pavlik would have been relegated to a nobody and therefore the victory would have been taylor knocking out an overhyped bum with one ok win... which would further have been diminished by abraham knocking out miranda in 4

therefore, taylor would still be called a dissapointment by the majority i feel

you're right of course . but when you're bored you'll do anything for a bit of light relief .

maybe a better question would of been " does pavlik in the 2nd round of that fight look like the saviour of boxing ?"
because you may think it aint true but many on here see him as exactly that.

Watching that fight at the time, I actually thought the referee was on the cusp of stopping it. I don't know what fight the guy on the last page was watching who said he didn't think Pavlik was hurt - he was about one punch away from a fully-blown KO IMO. I agree that this proves Pavlik can be hurt by boxers who are not exactly murderous punchers. I think Jermain Taylor is a talented fighter who will fulfil his potential soon and become an excellent supermiddleweight champion, but he is no Julian Jackson. Pavlik showed fantastic grit and resilience to weather the storm and come back, but if he can be teetering on the brink v Taylor, then I fear for him at 168 and beyond.

aye, 168's shaping up to be a top division. would love to see kessler get off his arse and fulfil his potential.him against taylor or pavlik would be great match ups.

have the best fights ever seemed so hard to make and as far away as they do now ?

Pavlik brings something to the table that many American fight fans haven't seen in a while ... a tough, gritty, white, american fighter, who's background is as down to earth and easy to relate to for most people.

His personality doesn't scream cockiness or arrogance ... he's very humble and media friendly.

Pavlik didn't let Taylor finish. End of story. Lesser fighters would've been finished

    it takes 2 to tango.

Even if Taylor knocked him out or managed to beat him ... He would still be the top dawg in the division and among boxing's rising stars. The fact is ... people like who Kelly Pavlik is.

But Taylor didn't. He tried but he simply couldn't finish him. That's a credit to Pavlik.

At the end of the day, it is what it is.

I don't think too many refs would have stopped that fight. There was never a good time to stop it. He went down and got right back up, you can't stop a fight for that. Then he was hit once on the top of the head which sent him stumbling for a couple of steps, that was it, at no point would it have been acceptable to stop that fight in the 2nd round.

I think emmanuel Steward, Jermin Taylor, and Lou DiBella probably know more about it than we do. Let's listen in.

He is the savior of American boxing? Why?

I was just happy he won the title in an exciting fashion, and then defended it in an exciting fashion. Taylor was supposed to be a rising start, but after his mediocre defenses he obviously lust his luster and appeal.

These guys who want to keep talking about the 2nd round NEVER mention the FACT that the ref AND the ringside doc both checked Kelly out between rounds.

They also NEVER want to talk about the 3rd round. That's why I posted the vid. Manny said, "We got a problem." I love that ****:happy
