Bowe had shi**y defense? That's news to me. If that were true he wouldn't have the record he has. Bowe rarely took punches flush or got caught square. He had an aggressive style, so he would get tagged from time to time, but that being said Tyson wouldn't win a firefight with Bowe anyway.

Bowe was excellent at cutting off the ring, infighting, clinching, and clipping guys coming in. Tyson's biggest weakness was he never developed his infighting skills and that's where Bowe would keep Tyson the entire fight. Tyson's poor infighting is also the reason I never favored him against Holyfield even back in the early 90's.

Bowe wouldnt even attempt to slip jabs and he’d get caught by right hands quite easily.

That wasn't 1992 Bowe. I don't know that Golota could beat up a peak Bowe the way he did the 1996 version.

I agree. I feel even at his best, Tyson has limitations that would make it a tough go against much bigger guys who can keep him at the end of their jabs, punish him with hard shots on the way in, and know how to in-fight or tie people up once Tyson gets inside. This is why, for instance, I'd disfavor Tyson in all hypothetical match-ups with Ali, Holmes, Liston, Lewis, etc. Probably Foreman, too - though he's a bit different from those four guys in style.

Sure but you can say Holyfield didn't beat peak Mike Tyson. So if one says Bowe beat Holyfield therefore he beats Tyson one can reverse it and say Tyson beat Golota therefore he beats Bowe. And Tyson handled Golota alot easier than Bowe handled Holyfield.

You could say that but also remember Golota had been knocked out twice before Tyson fought him..Lewis and Grant. He was an emotional wreck. Not that he was ever stable. By '99 his confidence couldn't have been too strong.
