If instead of Bowe Challenging him, Holyfield had faced the 1983 version of Tim Witherspoon?
And the rematch had taken place with the 1984 version?

Bowe was better than Witherspoon. and Holyfield would not be giving up so much size. Evander by a stop

I back Holyfield to show Witherspoon his holiness. Holyfield wins a clear decision

It would be a very competitive fight, but I think Holyfield takes this.

Tim’s career is treading water at this point. He’s fighting journeymen.

In 1992, his weights varied from 232 1/2 to 247, and that year includes a split decision loss to Bigfoot Martin. He didn’t even fight in 1993. His weight doesn’t get back below 230 again until December 1994, and then only by two pounds.

I think Holy is boxing circles around the version of Witherspoon that exists at this point in time.

I think Spoon rocks the hell out of Holy, but ultimately gets outworked.

One judge scores it for Spoon because of the more effective, heavier, ugly blows. The other two have Holy with a healthy lead. W12 Holy.
