Sergio's punch that ko williams was vicious. It was a very hard punch and williams got a great chin. So i think Sergio does have very good power but does he choose to throw like that everytime? i doubt it. To say hagler can't be hurt by martinez is a bit unrealistic. I thnk that punch will hurt anyone in 160lb and several of those will put anyone down.

I'm a great believer in the perfect punch, some punches that 99.99% of mortal men just do not get up from regardless of how tough a chin is.
People often say yeah but he took a huge shot from x,y and z, but that's a poor comparison. Though x,y and z may have more power and hit harder doesn't mean when they faced chosen fighter they hit him on the perfect spot, the temporal mandibular nerve.

Could Hagler have taken that shot? Possibly, he may be one of the very few. Can we say for certain based on footage? No, the precision, power and direction of the punch all play a part and it's such a small area to hit with everything factored in.

Mind you, I believe Oliver McCall could be hit by a truck and the truck would come out second best.

Hagler would have been badly KO'ed. He had a weak chin, and really, he only faced light hitting guys moving up in weight his entire career.

    Hagler would have been retired.

    :rofl

Agreed, he was always one of my favorites, but I have a feeling the bandwagon is going to be a little full after that monster KO. Unfortunately, it's inevitable that a combination of PW, Mayweather, and Pac supporters will develop hate for him and there's absolutely no good reason why.

It wouldn't have hurt Marvin, just made him madder. He'd eat him up like Pacman ;)

Williams didn't see the punch, plus he was moving in simultaneously. It was a perfect shot. Those are the one's that can change your career. I believe it could've ko'd anybody.

FACT: Hagler was never knocked down in his career.

Marvelous Marviin Hagler had tough victories over plenty of hard hitting fighters including the man with possibly the most powerful punch P4P of all time - Thomas The Hitman Hearns.

Anything is possible in boxing but it is very unlikely that Martinez would have knocked Hagler off his feet as no one else was ever able to accomplish that feat.

100% sure that Hagler would just walk into that punch like it was nothing.

Hearns hit him with his best shot and broke his hand... this would probably be the same result!
