If "that punch" never happened, and Mundine didnt get KO'd by Ottke and thus went on to win that match, how do you guys see his career panning out as opposed to what it is now?

I think he wld have got way to cocky and not trained properly in his nxt 3 or 4 fights and got KO'd by someone.

Remember that lose actually helped Mundine focus in his career after that fight. It was only his 10th bout.

He would have been KO'd by someone cause of his cockiness.

I have always thought that if it was Danny Green versus Mundine on the night he fought Kessler then Green would have won simply cause choc would have fought the same scaredy cat fight.

I think a no fear Mundine might have a better chance of beating more top 5 fighters than a hit and run Mundine

Mundine was ahead on points which was crazy considering it was in ottkes backyard and him being known for some very dodgy decisions going his way.

But ohwell the mouth got koed.:yep

Actually, Mundine was behind on the cards. Re-watch the fight and you'll notice (just before the KO) that Michaels was giving Mundine credit for even getting this far against the professional, undefeated Ottke, then...Boom.

Go on any site(Boxrec etc)and it is evident that Mundine was ahead.

Dont shoot the messenger.

Heh, not shooting the messenger. :D

The info from boxrec is wrong. It's a misconception that Mundine was ahead on the cards at the time of stoppage, many have said it in the past (Kostya, Michaels...probably teke :p) but it wasn't true.

I remember seeing the cards a year or so ago, and he was behind by 1 on 2 cards, and 2 on the other, or something like that.

However, if you take away the 2 points he was deducted for headbutting (which was a bit steep) then he'd have been ahead.

While trying to search for a link to the cards, I found something a little interesting and something I haven't read before...

It't about a third of the way down the page.

Open Letter: Anthony Mundine from Lou DeBella

As Americans, New Yorkers and human beings, we at DiBella Entertainment find your statements to be evil, deplorable and totally ignorant.
You're lucky, Anthony, to live in a great country like Australia which allows you to express your opinions, as vile as they may be. That kind of freedom is what our country is now defending. We're defending it against cold-blooded murderers who kill the innocent; cold-blooded killers who you apparently admire.
You should really consider joining the Taliban and Bin Laden. You would be deprived of nearly all of the freedoms you now enjoy. We don't think you or the women in your life would like it very much.
And don't attribute your inhumanity to Islam, a religion of peace. You and those you support don't represent your religion, Anthony, they pervert it. Contrast your statements to the actions of Muhammad Ali, who personally visited the site of the horror to console the victims' families and pray with the rescue workers.
You shouldn't be fighting for a world boxing title, Anthony, you don't deserve it. You didn't deserve it before you opened your mouth; you're a rank amateur who hasn't fought anyone. You're undeserving as a fighter.
People who care about boxing will do everything they can to try to deprive you of your undeserved title shot. We can't believe the IBF sanctioned you in the first place. We probably should not be surprised. They have a long history of questionable decisions.
They're presently planning on stripping their welterweight champion, Vernon Forrest, if he fights WBA champion Andrew Lewis. They are unwilling to let their newly designated "mandatory contender", a lesser fighter, wait a few months. This, while they are willing to sanction a low-life bum like you.
Know something Anthony; whatever happens on December 1, you will never be a champion. The world's too smart for that.
