If the fight gets made, Deontay Wilder vs Luis Ortiz, who takes it?

Ortiz has slowed down quite a lot but in saying that he is very dangerous he is big has great skills and is southpaw and punches extremely hard this would be really tough for donkey hence why it wont happen.

 

Wilder as per usual will back away from danger in straight lines with his chin sticking out and arms outstretched over his head. He'll be a sitting duck for Ortiz's counter left hand.

 

No clue why but i have this odd hunch Wilder jumps on him and ends it in the 1st!

Then the cringeworthy blow back will be too much to stand.

 

Ortiz looks rather withered and aged in recent photos. So I guess that scenario is far more possible now than it was several year ago.

He no longer pounds his chest as if he were The Real King Kong as he did when he was younger. Looks sort of tired of trying to reach a seemingly unreachable goal.

 

I don't like Wilder's chances and neither does Wilder.

Hard fight to gage and to see where it goes. ortiz is still dangerous and wilder is unproven with anyone like him. Ortiz has very quick in and out movements and wilder almost always relies on someone standing still at some point.

The biggest factor in wilder is incompetant training....instead of instilling weaknesses and mistakes or improvements, everyone gives him a rnd of applause even the guy holding the mitts who is half the time flinchin not knowing if hes going to get hit or not ,and trying to simulate a short petrified guy in the ring???????What? lol

oh well...want to lose money ..bet him against a Joshua...maybe even Ortiz whos actually maybe looking bad on purpose? Who knows ...i know one thing wilder doesnt want this fight, no matter who says what. HUGE risk for Wilder.

 

its a close fight. ortiz is skilled and well polished. hes prolly the most skilled heavyweight boxer. hes getting older n thats the only major concern.

Maybe the realization that he's finally getting his shot will miraculously rejuvenate him. One thing he must avoid is getting stripped of the title by resorting to drugs again. One thing is for sure, Wilder better not start wildly wind milling in front of this guy or else it might be a short night.

 

Even though Ortiz is 38 going on 50.

Someone with as solid fundamentals and good technique as Ortiz, should be able to run a train through Wilder, despite the obvious athletic and speed disadvantages.

I think this will be a "shock" to many a casual fans, as Ortiz will put on a boxing clinique and stop Wilder inside 4 rounds.

I just do not see how Ortiz can miss given the fundamental flaws in Wilders game, and due to Wilders utter ineptitude defensively. Its only never been exploited in a professional boxing ring because to this day, Wilders best opponent is Bermane Stiverne.

 

"If" Wilder fights Ortiz..................Ortiz has looked bad lately, so perhaps Wilder will get the nerve to fight him. Ortiz has shown a very strong chin and he has power, so we will see........................I would rather see Joshua knock Wilder out though.................

 

I think it depends who connect first but I like Ortiz technique over wilder

Corrie Sanders had all but given up on getting a title shot at a major belt when he got the Wlad shot. This motivated him to no end and he looked good on the night.

If the same happens with Ortiz I suspect Wilder is going to be shocked. That said, I reviewed some of Ortiz' last fights and, damn, he is slow. Accurate, hard hitting ... but slow. I fear Bum Squad at his best might be too much for this version of King Kong. Still, Ortiz is better than anybody else on Wilder's resume, so kudos there at least.
