Do you think it will get more attention and sell more on PPV than it would have without the drug testing fiasco? There was a good lot of hype on boxing websites and their forums as talks were beginning and while the location of the fight was being discussed, but all of a sudden every website (even ones that normally neglect boxing) started talking about the fight just as it seemed like it mightn't be made. Personally I think it will have a positive impact on the PPV buys and both Golden Boy and Top Rank know this.
It's all about making money. If Team Pacquiao was ACTUALLY going to get a new opponent, that would be done by now. Fact is, Floyd vs. Manny happens on March 13.
I was sure the fight was going to happen as soon as Cotto + JMM were beaten. Got to admit though i was a bit unsure at times and think it has definitely added to the hype and build up to the fight. So yeah i think it is fair to say this will add some PPV numbers.
it ll add some money to it- but not as much as if they had all signed the contract earlier- and began their marketing and advertising campaigns by now. its a by product that it has helped build another story line- but this wasnt a marketing ploy- to sue one another- and all that - believe me.
if the suit continues it will keep adding to the storyline and intrigue. will manny look to punish floyd for the accusations? will it affect floyds preparation? will this be the quietest mayweather camp ever? will boxing move to change testing procedure or treat it like a publicity stunt and move on?
