Would he have remtached Wilfredo Gomez and if he did what would be the outcome?

After Sal cracked Wilfredo's cheeck bone I doubt Gomez would want a rematch Sal had a mix of speed and power you dont see at the lower weights

Sal Sanchez took Gomez best shots and displayed a clean face afterwards. That had to of freaked out Gomez, who came out looking like **** afterwards. I'm sure Wilfredo would of got the balls down the line and would of attempted to rematch Sanchez, only to receive another mugging.

Sanchez beats Gomez the same way every time. If he had not died, a rematch with Nelson after he became a little more experienced would have been much more interesting, a unification with Pedroza would have been great as well.

Would there have been a chance to see Sweet Pea - Sanchez at lightweight later on?

By time Whitaker reached his peak, it was about '90. If Sanchez had lived, he would probably have been past his best by then. Even so, prime for prime I don't see Sanchez taking more than 4 rounds from Pea, a fight that would be at 135lbs.

I think Sanchez would've beaten Gomez again.

A better match would've been a unificiation against Eusebio Pedroza, but Sanchez apparently was looking to move up in weight when he died.

Sanchez looked like he had the frame and skills to be successful at higher weights.

Sanchez probably would've beaten LaPorte and Gomez in rematches, may have had a setback against Pedroza, and most likely would have lost to Arguello, Mancini, and Davis Jr.

You see that mix more at the lower weights than anywhere else.

He'd obviously have beaten Gomez in a rematch. There were talks for a fight with Arguello, but even had he survived I doubt it would've come off at that stage.
