How would Wlad and Vitali have done in the era of prime Holyfield, prime Bowe, prime Lewis, old George Foreman, etc? Would they have been as successful as they are now?
NO. Bowe, Holyfield, big george, 90s Mercer, yes 96 Tyson, even Briggs, Tua COULD all pose problems and beat the brothers. 90s was undoubtedly a stronger era than the 2000s.Also Lewis Would beat Wlad as well.
Imma copy and paste my own post but I really believe this is true Wladimir in the 90's would never have reached the prime level he is at now. Can PRIME WLAD beat Bowe? YES. Can PRIME Wlad beat Ruddock? Yes. Can PRIME WLAD even beat Holyfield? Maybe. But that's not the point, the point is in the 90's Wlad would never have reached his prime, because a green version of Wlad would have had to go through B Rated opposition and Gate Keepers much tougher then the ones he went through in the early 2000's. Wladimir after his embarrassing lost to Purrity fought Monte Barrett David Bostice Paea Wolfgramm Lajos Eros and Phil Jackson leading up to his WBO Title shot against Chris Byrd. If Wladimir was in the 90's era, , he would have had to go through Ruddock Bruno Tommy Morrison,Tua,Ike and possibly Golota to get a title shot at a Holyfield or Lewis. If you think the version of Wladimir that fought Ross Purrity could have beaten the likes of Bruno or Ruddock you are out of your god damn mind. If the version of Wladimir that fought Purrity fought Ruddock, he wouldn't have gassed out and lost because of stamina issues. He would have been brutally injured. If Wlad fought in the 90's, he never would have reached his prime, instead what would have most likely happened is that he would have suffered 3-4 bad knockouts and retired. Once again PRIME WLADIMIR I feel beat 90% of all the ATGS. But he never would have reached prime status in a stronger era
McCall stops Wladimir if Steward / Sdunek ever agreed 4 them 2 fight , possibly stops Vitali as well . Tua not much of a threat 2 Vitali , and probably loses a decision 2 Wladimir due 2 size considerations of course .
It wasn't hard to get a title shot in the 90s. Foreman got his shot by beating Rodirgues Holmes upset a dreadful Mercer Cooper lucked into a shot because Holyfield had no one to fight when Tyson was injured. Bowe got a shot at Evander by beating CW Coetzer Moorer waited it out whle beating guys like Evans and a washed up Bonecrusher. Ferguson upset a dreadful Mercer ...etc. Even pre-Steward Wlad could duplicate Moorer's run. Vitali certainly could.
