If the Klitschkos were two brothers from Detroit or Philadelphia, and otherwise exactly the same (size, education, styles, records, titles, dominance, longevity) would the people who hate them and continually post negative comments about them feel the same way?

Or would their haters feel very differently about them?

    No.

But I've never fully understood exactly why the Klitschkos receive so much unfair negativity and bashing from some people. I was hoping this thread may provide some answers.

It's obvious - because they are boring, safety-first robots. Especially Wlad. Nice guys by all accounts, but who cares about that?

So if they were two brothers from Detroit, New York of Philly, it wouldn't make any difference to you? You'd still feel the same?

They'd have a different set of fans and haters. Farmboxer and Derrick would switch places. People here probably would've warmed to them and their accomplishments quicker.

    That's that in a nutshell.

Vitali has never been disliked. Wladimir would be on the under card for major fights he's too boring or late late night fight's for all the people that cannot sleep would tune in..

Well then you dont understanding boxing. Wlad made one of the worst HW era's ever even more boring and un-exciting. Fans want action from a HW champ, not a serial hugger who refuses to exchange. Fans want big fights, the best against the best. Now you explain what colour has to do with anything?

Colour and nationality have little to do with the US fans indifference to the Klitschko's. They simply don't embody what US fans think a heavyweight champion should be. Same happened to Lewis during his era, he was seen as too civil, too nice, not flash enough or bad enough for US fans idea of the heavyweight champion. The difference was Lewis fought in a stacked era with plenty of top US heavyweights to get fights with to draw in the US fans.

If there were more top US heavyweights and the era was deeper in general there would be more interest in the division and the Klitschko's. All we have in this era are 2 dominant fighters beating massively over matched opposition and with Wlad often in a very lack lustre timid style, though he has been more exciting to watch in recent fights.

If colour and nationality were an issue why is Pac such a huge draw, why is one of the best P4P figters a black US fighter in Andre Ward unable to draw fans if it's just about nationality and race. The answer is Pac is exciting and faced stiff opposition regularly, Ward while a master technician is deemed to have a boring style.

If Wlad was more aggressive or Vitali possessed 1 punch KO power and there was better opposition to face they would be seen on HBO or Showtime regularly, they are victims or their styles and the era not colour and race.

A lot of americans will vote that it wouldn't have done a difference, bacause they hate to admit being racist against non-americans.

    Stupid Klitards

Don't think the Klits are the GOAT at heavy, Then your racist

Don't think watching Wlad fight bums is exciting then your racist

Think Wlad being allowed to hold 20 times in 1 round is a disgrace, Then your a racist

Don't agree that Vitali won the fight with Lewis because he was ahead when TKO6 then your racist
