There hasn't been a new division created in boxing since cruiserweight in the early 80s.... Lets say Super-Heavyweight was created at 235 pounds+ ... How would that affect the heavyweight landscape (200-235) Would dominate. who would move up/down?

It woudnt effect it at all bc most guys weigh over 235.

A CW champion would still be able to compete like a wilder so...…...he wouldn't have title though if he didn't get by Fury. lol

not really. most guys weigh around 240-245.... Wouldn't they wanna do the dehydrate thing and get down to 235, like they do in other divisions? I'm saying the guys who are 250+, how would they do

If he hadn't retired, Dustin Nichols would dominate a 300+ division.

Guys are averaging 6'5 now why would they fight below the biggest weight class ? Rehydrating to below 235 isn't going to be so easy for everyone and the ones who want the big money aren't going to fight below the top division.

The thread was asked how would it effect the current one,it wouldn't. the majority would still be above what you are claiming of 235 . Besides that they the commission would never make the cut at that weight ,it would be 225 nothing above that and most likely make a SHW class at above 220.

This is a very confusing topic, I have been told on this forum many times at different times a superheavyweight has to be over 6ft4, then told he has to weigh over 230lbs, then told he has to have a reach over 80inches, then told he has to weigh over 230lbs and be 6ft 4 together, then I was told Ruiz was a superheavyweight, then told Chisora was a superheavyweight, so can someone tell me what it is or is it just the weight thing. I will be very interested to know, because if it’s just a load of any height fatties that can weigh over 230lbs then don’t bother with a new division we have one it’s called heavyweight with some very overweight boxers lol.

lol... yep. perhaps this is why this division has yet been created. surely, it has to be by weight... why would it be by height/reach? what other division in boxing is classified by height/reach?

None you tell the other posters who keep bringing height and reach up. Then I suggest if you want to make another weight division we change the name to a different thing altogether, because there’s nothing super about any height obese or overweight fighters eg they tend to be much slower than let’s say 220-30lb fighters, the universally known hardest hitting fighters ever in the division Ie foreman, wilder, Tyson, shavers, Marciano, are all under 230lbs so if it’s to be a new weight class why don’t we drop the super and make it flabbyweight or undisciplined weight or slow as molasses weight what do yo think?

AJ will beat Ruiz in the rematch, then Canelo will avenge his countryman's loss. I see him stopping AJ in 3 or 4 rounds max

There's no point in creating another division as the fighters in the sub 235lb weight range would then aim to pack on pounds to fight in this so called Super Heavyweight division.

It would be more devoid of talent than the field of 2020 Democratic nominees.
