    Entirely and utterly ridiculous!!!!!

There was never a bidding. Infcat, Jones is willing to guarantee 25 million just for the fight to happen in Texas, meaning, the whole organiztion is actually richer by 25 million even if the fight has not happened yet.

I don't think MGM can match that.

Of course the MGM Grand could. The casinos make so much ****ing money during a big fight, it's insane.

There's a reason why the biggest fights happen in smaller arenas in Vegas casinos, much to our dismay, and not in big stadiums with larger capacities. Of course, as it always is, it's about money.

Maybe there wasn't a bidding...the promoters said though they were going with the MGM Grand because they were going to outbid Jones.

MGM couldn't afford to outbid Jerry Jones. They're broke just like every other Vegas casino or on the verge..

25 million guaranteed is way beyond any Vegas joint could offer.

Even during Vegas' heyday, they can not match that. Gate tickets would get them probably 8-15 million, while MGM might not corner all the gamblers as there are so many casinos in that area.

Jones is cash rich and texans do everything big. Jones might even lose money but it is all about media exposure,.

Xylocaine / Lidocaine is banned in Nevada within a week leading up to the fight, and they do test for it in the post fight tests. Floyd uses it 'for training', supposedly.
Xylocaine / Lidocaine is banned in Texas period. But seeing as Texas don't really do any testing it would hardly matter.

Floyd couldnt even fill a venue of 16k fighting the best mexican on mexican independance day with 6months promotion, how in the hell is he gonna fill a stadium?

Floyd gets the ppv's done because people are intrigued by him, they dont care about him enough to come and see his fight live.
