    How many ppv buys do you think Louis-Schmeling II would have done???

    very few

    It occurred durning the Depression. Disposable income was scarce for most people.

    It was a huge event, though

    My dad told me how he and his dad listened to it on the radio. I think my dad said he and his dad bet a dime or a quarter on the fight.

    1938 was still considered depression years in the U.S. Also in 37-38 a major recession hit the nation and the unemployment rate soared to nearly 20%. It would have been a bad time for a PPV event!

    Given the relative lack of televisions in that time, I'd imagine the numbers would be disappointing.
